This racetrack sculpture depicts the layout of Palm Beach International Raceway Road Course located west of Jupiter, Florida. The Road Course configuration runs 3.27 km in length with 11 turns. Palm Beach International Raceway is a popular testing facility for a wide range of racing machines. It was also featured in an episode of Top Gear (UK). Soon after its inception in 1964, the facility was very successful. In 1981 it was renamed to Moroso Motorsports Park after Dick Moroso, owner of Moroso Racing Parts. After a major upgrade, it was ready to host regional and national SCCA events, later becoming more famous for its drag strip. Later in 2008, Moroso was renamed to Palm Beach International Raceway and remodeled into a more state-of-the-art facility. It has since been used for racing events by ARCA, Skip Barber, Radical East USA, Ferrari Cavallino Classic, Porsche BMW Owner’s Club and the Florida Sports Car Championship.
