Abu Dhabi is the seat of federal government of the United Arab Emirates and the country’s capital, and a haven for some of the world’s biggest oil-producing companies, most luxurious hotels and sporting facilities, founded only 47 years ago. The race in the Abu Dhabi corniche is a well-known part of the F1H2O tour and returned now the 7th time. A homeground of course for the Team Abu Dhabi drovers, but also known and raced a lot by all other returning drivers, only new to the newcomers in the tour Peter Morin and Simone Bianca Schuft, while youngster in the tour Erik Edin passed his first ever F1 race here last year. In front of his home town and a huge and enthusiastic crown, Thani Al Qemzi, the only Arabic driver of Team Abu Dhabi, fighted from start to finish in the front position and gained a historic victory in the end. Also Youngster Peter Morin made a perfect weekend and gained 2nd place in the end, his best ever result in F1. Sami Seliö, former 2 times World Champion, found back to previous performance levels after having some unlucky racing the months before and finished happy in the 3rd.
